How Can I Help?
If you have goods or services that you would like to donate, please tell us about them.
The Helpline is entirely funded by people like you. You can help by:
- Volunteering your time. You can help in the office, picking up food or helping at an event... Call or e-mail the office.
OFFICE VOLUNTEERS
- FRONT DESK – Answer phones, make appointments, provide referrals, assist clients who come in for appointments. We train. Shifts are 2½ hours Monday-Friday (10:00am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-3:00pm) September-June. July & August shifts are 2 hours, 10:00am-noon or noon -2:00pm.
- GENERAL OFFICE – Newsletter and other mailings, data entry, donation pick-up.
SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEERS
- Rummage Sale – Call Donna at 206-282-1540.
- Fun Run & Walk – Serve on Committee, be a Crossing Guard, help with sign-ups at Metropolian Markets and day of, help with mailings.
- Children’s Parade – Serve on Committee, call for bands to march, help day of with participants, build a “float”
- Board of Directors – two year terms
- Gala & Auction – Serve on Committee, Publicity, Procurement, Administration, Attendance, buy a table for your friends.
- Christmas Tree Lot – Serve on Committee, sign up to work on lot, or office, buy a tree, wreath, stand, and, an ornament, etc. Have a great time meeting your Neighbors and working with them.
- Giving money!! We are entirely funded by private donations.
- $300 helps a young mother with child care for a month.
- $200 helps a neighbor with rent for a month.
- $100 helps an elderly QA citizen with her electric bill.
- $50 helps tutor a child for 1 week.
