What the Helpline Does
Queen Anne Helpline opened in May of 1982 as a local Social Service Agency, serving the Queen Anne neighborhood. Serving all of zip code 98119 and 98109.
Helpline is supported by the neighbors, businesses, churches on Queen Anne, company matching funds, and our three major fund raisers during the year. The Helpline office is open Monday through Friday 10-3 from September through June, and 10-2 during July and August. The clothing bank is open daily.
The Queen Anne Helpline is a safety net for neighbors in need. The donations we receive help us provide:
- Funds for people who have suffered job loss, illness, accident or unexpected expenses and are facing imminent eviction or utility cut-offs
- Clothing bank provides clothing and limited household goods to families and individuals in need who are Seattle residents. They must call the office for appointments which are between the hours of 10:00am to 2:30pm.
- Bus tickets to look for work or medical appointments
- Continuing Education assistance with rent, books, child care, tuition
- Tutoring
- Referrals for callers not living on Queen Anne or who need something we can't provide
- Help in dealing with governmental social service agencies
- Coordination of donors and recipients of holiday gifts and baskets
- Food: Emergency food bags are available for local residents only
